rediscoveringme50 "swap"

Hi everyone! Today I received a box in the mail from "rediscoveringme50" here is a link to her youtube channel

She posted in one of her videos that she had two eyeliners from a LHI box that she was willing to give away, and being a freebie hauler I jumped at the chance! So imagine my surprise early April to see a Bella Box in my letterbox that felt very heavy! Opening it I discovered she had packed with all sorts of goodies, so here is what  I received,

Note I'm calling this a swap since I can't think of another word, but what she did was really sweet and a lovely way to give away items that you wouldn't use yourself!

I few things I recognized from LHI/Bella Boxes but here a couple of things I've never tried.

24 Hr Eye Tattoo in grey
This really is a tattoo, I swatched  it a couple of hours ago, and now, when I try rubbing it gently, it refuses to come off! It's a lovely smoky grey color with a little shimmer. It's very matte which I love and will be able to create a great smokey eye look!

Body Shop Soap
This was so lovely to add to the box. When I opened the box it had a lovely jasmine, rose smell (which was coming from the soap) It reminds me  a little of my mums scent and I will certainly use this!

Burberry Sample
This will be great to throw into my purse to freshen up during the night. I love Burberry scents, and have been thinking about buying a bottle after seeing my sisters collection, so thank you heaps!

 BB Straight Blowdry

This little sample smells great, and as I haven't chemically straightened my hair this year, it's pretty frizzy! So this well help heaps, and if it works I'll definitely purchase again. I've been hesitant to chemically straighten my hair because I'm trying to keep it "natural" and voluminous.

I totally was not expecting all these goodies, and thank rediscoveringme50 heaps. I put together a little box of goodies to send out today, so hopefully they reach you soon! Be aware though, I used the same Bella Box packaging! (They really are so convenient!)
I also received another goodie from Mr. Postman today, a new laptop! So hopefully I can start posting VLogs as well, which I've wanted to do for some time!

That's it from me! Post any comments below if you like anything you see, or if you love rediscoveringme50 channel on youtube!

MODEL CO HAUL AND GIVEAWAY

Hello lovely people! Hope you all had an eggcellent easter! (Ok that will be the last easter joke from me this year!)

Well this weekend I went to the easter show, for the first time in a while. One of the reasons I haven't been is how expensive it is!  I was tempted by the showbag arena once again but picked up a bag that I think is actually worth it!

Model Co Showbag

The bag itself,  I personally found quite unappealing. It's humongous and silver and I'll probably not use it again. Probably use it to store something in my closet.

You could choose the bronzed goddess or island fever,  I chose bronzed goddess.
Inside I received,

  • 1 Lengthening Mascara Black
  • 1 Eye Pencil and Sharpener Black
  • 1 ModelCo $20  Online Voucher
  • 1  Handbag Converter
  • Blush Cheek Powder
  • Eyeshadow Trio Pallette
  • Shine Ultra Lip Gloss

Lengthening Mascara Black

The mascara is pretty good quality, it's very black which is perfect for my dark lashes. I'm not a huge fan of the brush, just the standard mascara brush. I wouldn't buy this one again, it retails for $20 on the model co website.

Eye Pencil and Sharpener Black

Whilst I find eyeliners with sharpener lids extremely handy, this pencil is awful quality. The lid is very loose and will not stay on. The pencil is smooth, but the pigmentation is awful, only small traces of the eyeliner come off and hardly works when using it over eye shadow.

1 ModelCo $20  Online Voucher
I used the voucher the day I bought the bag (which was two days ago) and today the package arrived, so you have to credit Model Co for their fast shipping! I decided to spend the $20 on a travel sized bottle of their award winning fiber lash extension mascara which looks like this,

I've never used the fiber extension mascara before so this was an exciting experience. Now it wasn't fantastic results first time around using it. The little white fibers didn't really attach themselves to my lashes. What I can say is, it makes my lashes look longer in a very natural way. Today I went out just wearing a lip stain and these lashes and I received many compliments about how nice I look without makeup. *heehee* So if you're looking for a "natural" looking mascara this could be it. It's also very handy as it's a travel size and fits together to just throw in your bag very easily!

Blush Cheek Powder
Now I had to cheat and use the model co picture because the one I took was before I realized it had a mirror in it. I'm beginning to notice a trend with model co products. They all have a sneaky mirror built in there somewhere! I love this blusher, which is a nice coral/peach color  I think it would look great on almost any skin tone because of how it adapts. On my brown skin, the shimmery particles kind of blend and made my face look very rosy! I love how smooth it is, and so much product. Very pleased with this.

Eyeshadow Trio Pallette

Another product with a mirror! I love these mirrors, I keep losing my compacts in my bags so the more mirrors the better! These eye shadows are fantastic. So pigmented and shimmery. Perfect for a night out. Even though the pack was marked "bronzed" the blush, eye shadows makes for a very neutral toned look. The browns can be used minimally to accent eyes and the blush to subtly add some color. Very happy with these colors, and will be able to create many base looks from these.

Shine Ultra Lip Gloss in Striptease
Now if you have read my previous blogs, you would know I'm not a huge fan of lip glosses personally. Just that they make my lips look and feel greasy. But I did try this out, it smells heavenly and the little mirror is so handy! It actually wasn't too sticky and I decided then I would try this one out. Then with the $20 model co order, I received another one of these babies! So I decided to do a giveaway!

Lust Have It March 2013

Lust Have It March 2013

So today I received my Lust Have It box in the mail today! Lust Have it is a monthly subscription box which I pay ($14.95) for but they have increased their price to ($19.95) this month for all new members. I think this is because the box's value is more but you guys can decide that.

This month thankfully it came in the Lust Have It box! (Last month I ordered my first box, which was missing a product and packed in just a white cardboard box) Hopefully this continues for the next six months, by which time I'll decide if its worth 20 dollars or if I should ditch both Bella Box and Lust Have it and go to Violet Box or Her Fashion Box.

So this months box came with five products, plus the one they left out of last months box. So I'll start with the biggest product,

Item Number #1
Item Number #1
Bio Elixir Body Shaper Cellulite Contour Creme RRP $59.95
I'm really happy to receive such an expensive product and will definitely use this on my wobbly bits! It smells OK, not fantastic, but if it works I'd definitely buy another one as it very rare you find a cream that does what it claims. I am only twenty two years old but I like using preventative skin ranges as I want to keep everything in place for as long as possible!

Item Number #2

Item Number #2
The Natural Source Camouflage Color Crayon RRP $9.99 each
I wasn't exactly thrilled with the colors I received  they will have to be used as eye colors, or liners.I received  a lime green, which if I don't think I will use but the other which was like a really dark blue, almost black would be great when I'm doing a blue smokey eye. I think the size is a little small for $10 but they are really smooth and pigmented so maybe I'll repurchase in another shade.

Item Number #3

Item Number #3
Goldwell Dualsenses Rich Repair RRP 20.99 200 ml
This is a 50 ml sample of hair treatment. Will definitely use it and pleased with the size. I have heard of this brand before but never used it but pleased to receive a hair care product in the box.

Item Number #4

Item Number #4
Ocean Essences Strawberry Rose Rubber Mask RRP $4.95 27 gm
I was really happy to see this in the box. I love using masks and have never used a 'rubber' mask so will maybe even do a review on this. The thought of strawberry and rose sounds delicious and I received something in the Bella Box this month from ocean essence so might do a double review of these guys!

Item Number #5

Item Number #5
Alash 'Dress to Impress' 'After Works Drinks' 'Geisha' 'Peaches and Cream' RRP $10.95 per pair
So these guys didn't have a label on them for me to tell you which ones I got so a little confused. They are super, super thick so will definitely have to think about where I'll wear them. I am a fan of eyelashes and was thrilled to see this in the box, I've used dozens of brands before so might end up re-purchasing these guys as they came with a voucher in the box. Taking them out of the box, they were super soft, and pre-glued which is handy!

My thoughts?
Well I was pleased with the box, but wasn't taken away. I would definitely pay the 15 dollars for the box, but 20 dollars is a little steep considering they don't do beauty profiles. It came beautifully packaged though, with a little lollipop that didn't make it to this blog! What did you guys receive in your boxes? Would you pay 20 dollars for these items?

March 2013Bella Box

Hi everyone, this is my first beauty blog and I will be reviewing this months March Bella Box. It actually arrived mid month which is perfect and it came wrapped up in its usual beautiful blue boxing.

(For those of who don't know what a Bella Box is, it's a monthly subscription box where you pay $14.95 to have 5 or 6 premium samples sent to you. The great thing about Bella Box is, that you get to create a beauty profile and so far all of my samples have been things I would use or would like to try out.

So this was my Bella Box! I was pretty thrilled as soon as my eyes saw the little green tube so I'll go straight to that!

Item number 1

Item number 1
Clinique High Impact Lipstick SPF in extreme pink rrp $36.00

I absolutely adore Clinique products, the quality is really great and with SPF this lipstick will protect your lips. I tried gliding it on and it really has a great natural finish to it. I have dark skin so this colour matched my skin tone really well. I noticed some other people received lip glosses which I was thrilled not to receive as I hate glossy lips on myself, and I think I mentioned that in my beauty profile. The price is a bit steep to spend on lipstick but I might possibly get this one again.

Item number 2
Item number 2
Ocean Essence Summer Breeze Shower Gel 20 ml $4.95
So this product actually sells for $4.95 but for only 20 ml. I would NOT spend 5 dollars on a shower gel that is so small! You could use it at the most for one week. I have to say it does smell really nice and the packaging reminds me of a spa but you would not want to buy 10 bottles of this stuff for yourself, it would be so bad for the environment!

Item number 3+4
Item number 3+4
Suigo Ultimate Control Shampoo and Ultimate Control Conditioner 260ml both $22.50
I love how this came packaged, it made the bottles look really stand out. I have never heard of this brand before but they smell really great. Kind of similar to the ocean shower gel (citrus but aquatic) The sizes were really great, which is good for something like hair care products because you can't really tell if it will be great from one use. It will be great to try these out!

Item number 5

Item number 5
Designer Brands Lip Pencil $4.99

I have heard of this brand before but wasn't really a fan. Something about the packaging just makes me think this is going to leave a rash on my face! The sharpener on the lid is really handy and the colour did look great from outside. I tried it on and it was really smooth which was surprising but I did not like the colour on me. It's much more grey than I would like and it's not very pigmented. I probably wouldn't buy this one again.

Bonus Item
Bonus Item
Swiss Active Energy Bar $2.39
So this was slightly random to find in a beauty box. I mean if you're going to put food in  beauty box maybe some choccies or gourmet tea? This bar is meant to be one of those protein bars you chomp down after a heavy work out. I don't work out much so probably will pass this onto my dad! Nice to include something bonus though...

My thoughts on the box overall?
I was happy with this box, it totaled over $50 worth of products in there which was great and a lot of products I would like to try out. Stand out would be the lipstick, including a $36 dollar product in a beauty box is really generous and will be very excited to wear my new lip colour!

The box also did come with a 50% off voucher for Harvest Box which is something I've never heard of but might be good. Might be a subscription box but with trail mix instead.

So that's it for this month's Bella Box, I might be doing a post when my Lust Have it Box arrives so watch this space!
Tell me bellow what you thought about this months box, or what you received!
